Welcome to our blog! We’re Tanin and Florian - two New York Newbies who arrived in the Big Apple in 2024. After visiting NYC a couple of times as tourists and instantly falling in love with the city, we decided to make it our home.

Besides NYC, we are huge fans of the Harry Potter World (Tanin-Ravenclaw, Florian-Gryffindor), Football (Go Jets, Rams and 49ers!), and everything Disney - to name our biggest passions, there are other smaller ones 😉

While there are other NYC blogs out there, we often found it difficult to get truly detailed and insightful recommendations for certain food spots, coffee shops and activities. That’s why we decided to start our own blog - to give the advice that we were searching for.

Unlike many other blogs, we are completely independent. We don’t accept payments for reviews, so everything you read here is our honest and unfiltered opinion.

Now, you might be wondering “Why Pumps & Sneakers?” Well, the name represents us perfectly! Tanin loves glamorous pumps, while Florian prefers a casual sneaker look. And as a fun twist at the end of our articles, we’ll let you know whether a spot is more suited for Pumps or Sneakers or Both, helping you decide what to wear and what to expect.
